Megumi Naoi

Associate Professor, Department of Political Science

Megumi Naoi’s research bridges international and comparative political economy with a focus on three research programs: (1) how politicians and citizens understand and respond to globalization, such as increasing trade and global recession; (2) how political institutions (e.g., electoral systems and party systems) shape the behaviors of interest groups and firms; and (3) how multilateralism and international law affect domestic politics. She has studied these questions both cross-nationally and within a single country using originally collected micro-level data. Her regional expertise is East Asia, particularly Japan.
