Ellis Krauss

Ellis Krauss is professor emeritus of Japanese politics and policy-making at GPS. He is a leading expert on Japanese politics and United States-Japan relations. His research interests surround Japan and the U.S. in Asia and Japanese foreign policy, reaching to domestic politics in Japan and the Japanese mass media.

In 2010, Cornell University Press published his coauthored book “The Rise and Fall of Japan's LDP: Political Party Organizations as Institutions,” preceded by “Beyond Bilateralism: U.S.-Japan Relations in the New Asia Pacific” (Stanford University Press, 2004) and “Broadcasting Politics in Japan: NHK and Television News” (Cornell University Press, 2000). “Broadcasting Politics” was subsequently translated into Japanese and published as “NKH vs. Seiji” by Toyo Keizai Press.
