Anja applies the methodologies of behavioral economics to the realm of experimental philosophy, to explore human-machine interactions and their implications for moral behavior. She is a member of the Junior Research Group “Ethics of Digitization” at the Technical University of Munich and Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, and her current research focus is on the empirical elicitation of ethical boundaries in the programming of autonomous systems. Anja started her career as a behavioral scientist at the University of Cologne in the fields of behavioral economics and business ethics.

In April 2022, Anja has joined JFIT and GPS for a study of the transnational comparison of the moral evaluation and adoption of care robots in elderly care between the U.S., Germany and Japan.
